1g calc-i-oss™ corresponds to a volume of appr. 1ml.
calc-i-oss™- granules of 315 µm – 500 µm,
500 µm – 1000 µm
and 1000 – 1600 µm in user friendly packaging.
The choice of granules size depends on the size and location of the defect: the larger the defect the larger the applied granulate should be. We recommend the following sizes:
315 - 500 µm |
Periodontal defects |
500 - 1000 µm |
Medium size defects such as small cysts, alveolar defects |
1000 - 1600 µm |
Larger cysts, augmentations, sinus floor elevations |
calc-i-oss™ consists of pure b-tri-calcium phosphate with a Ca/P molecule ratio of 1.5. The implant material is osteo conductive and can be resorbed via the following two processes: physiological solution in the body fluid and direct cellular attack. This results in body-friendly products which are easy to metabolize. Resorption will take place mostly parallel to bone regeneration. Depending on the grain size and regeneration potential of the tissue, calc-i-oss™ will be completely resorbed within 9 to 15 months.
