Company Profile

Degradable Solutions AG is specialized in the development and manufacturing of degradable medical implants. A balance between pursuing own product ideas and contract development is maintained. Our clients are medical and pharmaceutical companies throughout the world. DS approaches the market in cooperation with strong distribution partners.

The company was founded at the beginning of 1999 as a spin-off company of ETH Zurich, Biocompatible Materials Science and Engineering. The founding of DS was supported by the Start-Up!-program of the Swiss National Commission of Technology and Innovation (KTI). The founder of DS, Dr. Kurt Ruffieux, has worked over 9 years in the field of degradable biomaterials.

Degradable Solutions AG works in close collaborations with companies from the medical industry, with research institutes and with surgeons.
